Happy CNY!

Hey guys! Happy Chinese New Year! Hope you've all enjoyed the holidays and best of luck for the upcoming exams!

SPMT HUAT AH!

Anyway back to the serious stuffs.

Regarding Training.

For this coming week starting 2nd Feb, there is NO TRAINING for juniors. Seniors train on Saturday, 7th feb as per normal.

For the WEDNESDAY juniors, your last (10th) training is held NEXT WEEK, on 11 Feb Wednesday. No training will be held on 4 Feb.

There will also be NO TRAINING tomorrow at FC5. Please pass this message around.

There is also NO TRAINING on the study week break (9 Feb to 15 Feb), except for the Wednesday students.

During exam period, which is from 16 Feb till 27 Feb, no training will be conducted as well. Training will only resume on the week of 2 March.

For SENIORS, training resumes on the Saturday right after exams, which is 28th Feb, Saturday.

For the Wednesday people, it is on 4th March.

For the Friday people, it is on the 6th March.

Do note that trainig on 4th and 6th March marks the first lesson of a new batch of 10 lessons. ATTENDANCE WILL BE TAKEN.

Also, during the period of time of study break and exams where no training is conducted, should anyone want to go to the gym to self-train, be prepared to bring a $15 membership fee. This fee is requested by Darren and will last for a calender year. You will also be required to register at the gym.

Yup so PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE take note of all the above. Pass the messages around to your teammates, ask them to view the blog.

Regarding the question on the tagboard by Sheng, SPMT is not listed on the club list in SAS because, in SP, there are 3 types of clubs. Constituent clubs, which are like SB Club, MMEC Club, SMA Club, Sports Club, CACC Club, etc. Then there are the sports clubs like dragonboat, archery, canoeing, etc. These sports clubs have a team of their own to represent SP in competitions like Inter-Varsity Polytechnic and Poly-ITE competitions. These competitions are recognised islandwide as tertiary level competitions.

Then finally, there are the recreational clubs like SP Muay Thai. We are not regarded as a sports club by the school because, Muay Thai is not YET recognized as a tertiary level sport by MOE. The IVP held yearly is organised as an invitational competition, and it is not recognized as an MOE sport. This is also one of the reasons why we do not have a club house YET.

To become a sports club, it is not easy. With the recognition of a sports club, comes a whole lot more responsibilities. The committee will have to attend yearly school meetings, do community service with their Welfare committee, and a lot more. The current committee is struggling hard to promote ourselves to become a sports club and we hope to become recognized soon.

As for the CCA points, at the end of each academic year, your names will be submitted as club members. It is up to the school to give CCA points, not us. Then again, your objective of joining us can't be just to earn CCA points, I hope?

Regarding the person who asked about the shirt, I will not give any comments because you don't even wanna show your name. Ask me personally if you don't feel comfortable showing your name to your own teammates and seniors.

There will be a lot more events coming up and the seniors are ALL putting in a lot of efforts to make sure everything runs well, despite our own busy schedule. We would appreciate some patience and encouragement along the way.

Till then, keep yourself fit, don't eat too much CNY goodies and train hard!

PS. Our contact numbers are all on the sidebar, so is the SPMT email. Anything just feel free to contact us, we don't bite.
