CCA Drive

WOOHOOO I'm blogging LIVE from our CCA Drive right now!

It's only the first day and about 4 and half hours and we already have 200+ names!! POWER LAH! Demo was alright, I hope the freshies saw it!

Anyway we've put down our blogspot site on the flyers we gave out, so hopefully some of yall will come take a look here! Our booth is in the Sports Hall itself, the very first booth once you enter the hall from fc5! We'll be here tomorrow and Wednesday as well, 11am to 6pm.

Just to let you know, our trainings are on Tuesday and Saturday. Tuesday's training is for physical training. We'd usually run around school, brush up techniques and maybe hit the gym. As for Saturday training which is in SCHOOL at 1pm, Coach will be there to train us.

I think most people have a slight misconception about Muay Thai, that is, you get injured very badly.

Well that's not how things work for SPMT!

When you start training as a beginner, most of the time you're shadow boxing and partnering with another person to tap about. Even if you wanna go crazy and be some strength-hero, you won't really have the chance because, even Coach will punish you! Trust me, you won't get hurt that easily. Even if there were to be sparring, you'd be wearing protective gear.

Alright some basic info and FAQ for yall.

SP Muay Thai Club was actually set up around August 2007, by our President, Pengyu, and Vice-President, Zen. Our Coach, Bruce, is from Fight G, previously known as MMA Academy. At Fight G, there is not only Muay Thai to learn. There are also other arts such as Capoeira and Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. Soon after, we set up our Main Committee as well. Our Captain is Spencer and the VCaptain is Jon! Their contact numbers are 92291034 and 93668247 respectively. If you are interested, just drop them a message/call!

1. Is the training very tough?
Ans: Well I wouldn't say the training is tough, because the intensity of it will build up over time. But then again, if you are really committed to the sport, I'm sure you can "tahan" the trainings. For beginners, the training is almost something like what I've mentioned above.

2. Can girls join Muay Thai?
Ans: OF COURSE YOU CAN!! Who said that only guys can do Muay Thai? LOL.

3. Do I have to pay to learn Muay Thai?
Ans: Alright I know as students, we don't really have that much spare cash. And that's why we've got one of the few lowest prices around! For a bulk of 10 lessons, it's 50 bucks. So that'll last you about 2 and half months.

4. Are there different levels of Muay Thai?
Ans: Yes there is. Usually after a bulk of 10 lessons, there will be a grading test conducted by Fight G. So afte that 2 and a half months of proper training, grading would prolly follow after another.. 1 month odd.

5. Do I have to buy any Muay Thai equipment?
Ans: For a start, not really. As time pass and you decide to really continue learning, the basic equipments you would have to get would be things will mouth guard, groin guards (for guys), hand wraps, and maybe shin guards. As for the prices, they range differently for different places but we'd usually try to get the cheapest price!

6. Last but not the least, of all martial arts, WHY MUAY THAI?
Ans: In a nutshell, it is basically the best system to fight while standing up! HAHA, simple as that. I will not compare HERE with the other arts LOL. Neither will I name any martial arts.

Well basically that's about it. So if any year1s see this, DO CHECK BACK HERE AGAIN for more updates!

Anyway the time now is 4.11pm and we've already about 216 names! ZOMG LOLOL.
